Restaurants
There are a number of great restaurants in Bath, ranging in cuisine and budget.
The Salamander is a great pub in the city centre which serves great food and a choice of beers from Bath Ales. It is hidden in the centre of Georgian Bath and historically it was a steak and chop house. There is a well-stocked bar and a restaurant upstairs. This place has a great atmosphere and has a great range of good food.
Sotto Sotto is a great Italian restaurant which offers delicious food and great wine and reasonable prices. The ambience is beautiful, set in a softly lit cellar. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. An extra effort is made if it’s your birthday!
Blue Quails Deli is a great spot for cake, coffee and a snack. You can get a quick breakfast, such as eggs Benedict with salmon, or go for some international street food, from Turkish to Palestinian. The food options at the counter are numerous and offer a brilliant selection in colours and tastes.
Burgers and Barrels offer great burgers, fries, beer and cocktails. The staff are very friendly here and offer you free popcorn and drinks sometimes while you wait for food. Their Farmer Brown burger is exceptional – topped with a fried egg, onion, lettuce and mature Cheddar. If you’re up for it, there’s even the Hulk, a food challenge whereby you eat a 1kg burger.
